I personally think people are the worst thing that's been done to the land. Our numbers are too high and need to be regulated. Make room for the wind devices and other alternative energies and balance it out so they can actually support all of us. W…

Hey Sharon, As purely my personal opinion I ask why do we wait for our government to do anything. It seems to me we, including myself, have become complacent with what the government does for us and then we are not always happy with it. I think some…

Why we should care about global warming

Some of us here are concerned about the environment. Others are concerned about the rising gas prices and continued unrest in the Middle East where much of our oil in the US comes from.

I was looking for information about the rising cost of gas after having seen a report on the news stating prices could top $4.00 per gallon in the next few months. It's already happening in California. As one who travels extensively, I'm dreading such a hike.

However, during my search, I ran acro

Alternative Home Heating Options

As Winter approaches in my neck of the wood, even though an unseasonably warm October makes it feel like Winter will never come, I know it will be here sooner or later. I'm dreading the doubled and even tripled electric bills.

I have been reading about alternative heat sources for homes and two caught my eye. Hydronic Heating Systems pump heated liquid through your home providing even, clean, quiet and more efficient heat. The question remains, how would I choose to heat the liquid? Do

Hi Sharon,
Happy New Year.
I'd like to send you a complimentary review copy of the most current edition of "The Save Gas Book". After using the book I would be interested in knowing if it was helpful to you and how as well as anything else you'd like to share about it.
Yours truly, Dennis

Hello Sharon.
I am currently a union carpenter in Los Angeles CA. and found an increased interest in persuing alternative enrgy. I have taken all my required classes from the union to journey out for example blue print reading. I have also taken and passed fundamental to dc electricity at my community college. I have no clue, how i will get in the field but i have a great deal of ambition. my question to you is where do i start? what school should i go to? what courses should i take? etc. what should i specialize in? I'm ready to do a 360 degree turn in my career.
thanks for your time.

Sharon - i produce and co-host a radio show in Denver - it's called the Uncle Nasty Show - we're a music format with talk in-between. It would be great to figure out how to get more folks involved, have experts on to discuss issues with listeners, deliver renewable energy facts to regular everyday people. Suggestions?

Thanks Sharon, for letting everyone know about the BTR/EnergyTalk LIVE! Did you send to all of the members or just those on your friends' list?

Let me know if you would like to have your own show, if I can assist you in any way. Have you met Jo Keirns? She will have her own show: GreenMech Solutions on Thursdays, starting next week.
