Maya Electric, powered by Electrovaya, Launches First Fleet

The Maya 300 is a Zero-Emission, Low-Speed Electric Vehicle for Urban Fleets

Mississauga, Ontario – June 23, 2009. Electrovaya announced today that it is powering
the Maya 300. The Maya 300 is a battery powered, zero-emission, electric vehicle
classified as a low-speed or medium-speed vehicle. Its target market is the urban fleet
operator.

Maya Electric is launching its first fleet at the Maryland Science Center today. The Maya
300 is a five-door, four passenger vehicle. It has an all-electric range of up to 120 miles
on a single charge. Electrovaya’s proprietary Lithium Ion SuperPolymer® Battery Pack
features ExxonMobil separator film.

“Electrovaya is accelerating clean transportation solutions as a commercial reality with
its advanced power systems for all classes of zero-emission electric vehicles and plug-in
hybrid electric vehicles.” says Dr. Sankar DasGupta, CEO of Electrovaya. “The Maya
300’s advanced Lithium Ion SuperPolymer® battery uses a unique separator film, based
on innovative technology developed by ExxonMobil, that significantly enhances the
power, safety, strength and reliability of the lithium ion battery.” Dr. DasGupta continues
